MESHOPPEN -- Parts of Wyoming County got hit hard with snow, about a foot in some places, and residents there say they're sick of winter.

It felt like an early April Fools' joke for people who live near Meshoppen in Wyoming County.

"It'll end someday. I thought it had ended. I had a tee time today for golf," said Bob Jennings of Meshoppen Township.

Needless to say, Jennings didn't get a chance to play golf on Monday.

And a Meshoppen Township plow didn't make it back to its shed. It got stuck in a ditch on McMicken Road in the midst of the storm and wasn't towed until morning.

It wasn't the only vehicle that had a hard time driving in the snow.

"We were coming home from my mother-in-law's, about 9:30. It took us about two hours to get home last night," said Anthony Cona of Meshoppen Township.

Cona says it normally takes 15 minutes for him to make that drive.

"The good thing about the snow coming this late in the season is that it's already warm enough that it's melting. The bad thing is that melting is making it wet and heavy and tough for people to dig out."

"It's tough to move. Of course you got wet pavement or wet dirt road under it, so you're plowing mud as well," explained Auburn Township plow driver Gilbert Oakes.

Mud or not, this white springtime wonderland reminds folks in Wyoming County of just one thing.

"Like Christmas, huh? "
