SCRANTON --- The Scranton School District's school board voted Monday night to take over the operations at an alternative school.

The district will take over the Lincoln-Jackson Academy along River Street starting next school year.

The alternative school is in the former St. Mary's School and has about 100 students in grades 7 through 12.

A company based in Texas ran the school in Scranton this past school year.
