PLAINS TOWNSHIP — Scouts were going door-to-door picking up food in Luzerne County on Saturday.

The boy scouts and girl scouts went to their scout hall in Plains Township to sort through the food before delivering it to a food bank at Saint Peter and Paul church to help those in need.

It’s all part of “Scouting for food,” which is taking place all over the country throughout the spring.

The scouts expected to collect about 5,000 items.
