Rice University made it official on Thursday naming Mahanoy Area native Mike Rhoades as their new head men's basketball coach. Rhoades won a Division III national title at Lebanon Valley with Pat Flannery, then coached at Randolph-Macon and spent considerable time with Virginia Commonwealth as the associate head coach there. Now the state of Texas welcomes the Schuylkill County native.
