1979: Nuclear Meltdown at Three Mile Island

Thirty-five years ago Friday, a nuclear meltdown at Three Mile Island, outside of Harrisburg caused a panic.

In the days that followed the disaster, information coming from the government was unreliable at best.

We open up the Video Vault to take a look at some of our coverage following the incident at Three Mile Island.

On the anchor desk it was Newswatch 16’s Gary Essex. In the field were reporters Kevin Cokely and Mike Stevens.

The stories are from March of 1979.
