The Providence Bruins defeated the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins 2-1 on Wednesday night at the Mohegan Sun Arena in Wilkes-Barre Township in an American Hockey League game. Chuck Kobasew scored a goal :17 seconds into the 2nd period to tie the game 1-1, but Providence added a power play goal off the stick of Ryan Spooner near the end of the 2nd period for the win. The WBS Penguins get back on the ice this Friday and Saturday in Norfolk with two very important games, while Binghamton plays St. John's on Friday. The Penguins are still one point behind Binghamton in East Division standings.
