UNION TOWNSHIP — A barn in Luzerne County is in ruins after a fire.
Fire officials say it is an example of why you need to be careful burning anything outdoors on a windy day.
The barn along Cope Road in Union Township was empty but workers cleaning out the barn for the owner were burning things on the property and the wind caught the barn on fire.
No burn ban is in effect in Luzerne County but the chief says it probably wasn’t the smartest thing to do considering how strong the wind was on Wednesday.
