BUTLER TOWNSHIP -- A homeowner burning trash in her backyard on Monday blamed the wind for blowing burning debris into a cornfield in Luzerne County and setting it on fire.

Crews from several fire departments in the Conyngham area were called to Roth Road in Butler Township around 1:45 Monday afternoon.

They used brush trucks to put out the fire and keep it from spreading beyond the cornfield.
