UNION COUNTY — A burning ban is going into effect as of 6:00 p.m. Monday.

Union County Commissioners imposed the ban on all outside burning due to very high winds and dry fuel content, which is causing multiple wildfires throughout the County.

The Union County sheriff’s department will be enforcing the ban and a fine of $100 upon conviction for the first offense.

This ban will remain in effect for 30 days unless conditions improve.
