STROUDSBURG — Two grocery store employees in Monroe County have received a big honor.
Rebecca Courtright of East Stroudsburg and Heather Thomas of Pen Argyl will be featured on a limited edition Cheerios boxes being sold at Shoprite in Stroudsburg.
They helped raise almost $14,000 for area food banks through Shoprite’s Partners in Caring contest.
“Being on the Cherrios box is a nice accolade, but it’s helping fight hunger in the Stroudsburg community, the rewarding feeling of making a dent in a much bigger problem and that was the big reward,” said Shoprite manager Brandon Brodman.
Shoprite stores across six states raised more than $1 million to fight hunger.
