SCRANTON — Our area is in the political spotlight on this St. Patrick’s Day with visits from both the vice president and his wife.
Jill Biden, the second lady, is addressing a Dress for Success luncheon at the Radisson Lackawanna Station hotel in Scranton.
Vice president Joe Biden is scheduled to be here this evening as the guest speaker at the Greater Pittston Friendly Sons of St. Patrick dinner. It’s scheduled to start at 6 p.m. at the Woodlands in Plains Township.
It’s a big night for the Friendly Sons; the dinner marks the group’s 100th anniversary.
From Pittston, staffers say Biden will go back to Washington, and then head to Poland and Lithuania. According to the White House, Biden will meet with European leaders, and talk about ways to keep Ukraine independent.
