WILKES-BARRE -- Some folks kept warm before the Wilkes-Barre St. Patrick's Day Parade by running or walking a few miles.
"Renal Race 3" got started at Public Square in Wilkes-Barre. More than 400 participants joined the race.
The 5-k run/walk benefits kidney cancer research.
Organizers said they raised $50,000, already, and each year the race gets bigger.
The co-founder of the race, Erin Pikul, said, "Each year we've been doing runs, and making it bigger and larger, people from all different states, hopefully this will be our best year yet."
All the money raised at "Renal Race 3" will help fund research for kidney cancer, as well as awareness for the disease.
