Local Paralympian Wins Another Bronze

A teenager from Luzerne County is taking home another bronze medal in the Paralympic Games in Sochi.

Wyoming Area High School senior Stephanie Jallen won her second bronze in skiing Friday.

Jallen, a member of the U.S. Paralympic Alpine Ski Team won her first bronze medal in Russia on Monday.

Jallen lost her leg when she was an infant because of a birth defect.

She started skiing when she was 8 years old.

    I watched the 6 p.m. news on 03/14/2014, and there was no mention of Stephanie Jallen, a world class skier, on the news. Sports was local swimming and basketball. How does state level sports have more importance than a local world class athlete placing third w/ her second bronze medal?
