This week for my latest Show & Tell adventure, I decided to jump into the world of punk rope. It’s a new type of workout class that uses jump ropes and other partner activities to get a great cardio and strength training workout.
Every week, Jessica Johnson, teaches the punk rope class at the Jewish Community Center of Scranton, to people of all ages. From 8 years old to 68 years old, this class is for anyone and everyone.
It was one of the toughest workouts that I have ever done, seeing as I haven’t jumped rope since I was in kindergarten! Jessica let me take breaks as needed, and encourages everyone to go at their own pace.
The group atmosphere pushes you to the limit and, according to Jessica, you can burn about 1200 calories per class! It was a wonderful way to work out and I can’t wait to try it again!
