JIM THORPE -- Jim Thorpe may be known as a tourist town, but on parade day there's a lot of hometown and Irish pride.
The Annual Carbon County Saint Patrick's Day Parade marched down Broadway for the 17th year on Sunday.
Virginia Llewellyn of Jim Thorpe hasn't missed one yet, she said, "I've lived in this town all my life, so I've been here for all of them."
Parade participants waved and smiled to hundreds of spectators.
As for those watching, some where happy to soak in the sunshine and they thanked the luck of the Irish for the spring-like weather.
"It's the first nice day in a long time. There's a lot of Irish people walking around, bagpipers, good looking dudes in kilts," said Bobby Williams of Bethlehem.
"People from New York, New Jersey, Maryland, everywhere just come down here and get drunk for some reason. I don't know why, it's just a little town with a road in it, but yeah, everyone loves Broadway," said John Healti of Jim Thorpe.
