SCRANTON -- New construction means a new traffic change in downtown Scranton.

Authorities said Linden Street, between Adams and Jefferson, is closed until 5:00 p.m. Saturday evening.

According to officials, construction crews are pouring concrete for the University of Scranton's Center for Rehabilitation Education.

Southbound vehicular traffic on the 200 block of Jefferson Avenue will be reduced to one lane during this period, authorities said.

Pedestrians will be able to access McGurrin Hall from a center crosswalk on the Elm Park United Methodist Church side of Jefferson Avenue. The sidewalk along the north side of Linden Street will remain open, according to officials.

Traffic flaggers will be posted on Jefferson Avenue during this period.

The $48-million building is scheduled to be completed in the summer of 2015, in Lackawanna County.
