WILKES-BARRE — A former police officer facing sex charges entered guilty pleas Wednesday in Luzerne County court.
Cody Smith pleaded guilty while in court for a pre-trial hearing on his case.
Smith was a part-time police officer in the Wyoming police department.
He pleaded guilty to statutory sexual assault, unlawful contact with a minor, and one count of corruption of minors. Two other corruption of minor counts were dropped.
Smith is free on bail. He is not allowed any contact with victims or enter a school zone. He was must also seek treatment.
Smith is scheduled to be sentenced June 20.
