Busy Road Reopened After Wreck

HAZLE TOWNSHIP -- A busy road in Luzerne County is open again after a serious car crash.

Responders said the head-on crash happened on Route 309 in Hazle Township around 6 a.m.

Troopers said both drivers were severely hurt.  A helicopter was called to airlift the injured to the hospital.

PennDOT said both directions of Route 309 between West Buttonwood Street to East Arthur Gardner Parkway were closed while state police reconstructed the scene.
