SCRANTON -- A businessman connected to corruption cases in Luzerne County was in federal court on Wednesday morning.
Robert Mericle was at a hearing at the federal courthouse in Scranton.
Federal prosecutors were scheduled to present evidence that Mericle was not abiding by the terms of a plea bargain, and were expected to ask for a tougher sentence. But in court, federal prosecutors and defense lawyers said the "issues were resolved."
The man from the back mountain pleaded guilty in 2009 to charges he knew two former county judges took money to open juvenile detention centers but never reported it.
Mericle is scheduled to be sentenced on April 25.
