SCRANTON — A jury in Lackawanna County found a former public defender guilty on nine counts related to rape and sexual assault.

Ken Kovaleski of Jessup is accused of molesting a 16-year-old girl.

The case went to the jury Wednesday afternoon and a verdict was reached just before 5 p.m.

Kovaleski was a former public defender for Lackawanna County and a defense attorney. Court papers filed against Kovaleski say he used his job to intimidate his alleged victim, who accuses Kovaleski of sexually abusing her over the course of a year.
