If you're a regular viewer of our Talkback 16 segments on WNEP, you, no doubt, have heard some of the less than favorable remarks directed toward our Stormtracker 16 team in the past week or two.

We tackle those complaints head-on in this edition of Talkback Feedback.

Fact is Newswatch 16 has one of the highest rated local newscasts in the US. This is something they’ve been managing to do for more than 30 years. Patronizing? That’s a little harsh. They get bashed daily from irate viewers who have nothing better to do than complain because it snowed instead of rained in the dead of winter. I think it’s just a little good-natured ribbing,

If people don’ like the what you have to say about the weather they can always turn the channel. It is just easy. I like your weather channel.

Re: 2/20/14 Abusive Talkback toward Weathermen…

To all the weather prognosticators at WNEP, I hope I’m not the only viewer who feels you all do a great job all year long. Those who
complain need to cut you all some slack.
Folks need to understand a few things:
    1. It’s the weather! It vacillates! Forecasts are not guaranteed.
    2. The future is difficult to predict sometimes.
The team is doing the best they can with what they have.
Have my fellow viewers ever been 100% successful predicting the future? Probably not. Then we have no right to expect perfection
    from our meteorologists.
    3. The Farmers Almanac isn’t right 100% of the time either.

Keep up the good work. And don’t let the haters get you down. ;)

Can’t watch in the morn, have to go to work, been watching wbre. I can get the weather and be done. But a lot of people around here don’t work and have plenty of time for a show. Just catch the evening edition, np

Fact is, there were other meteorologists who better predicted these winter storms. Talkback can poke fun all they like, but I suspect patronizing the viewers likely won’t go over well in the long term.
