ALBRIGHTSVILLE -- Before the warmer temperatures come and melt the ice and snow, some daredevils in Carbon County wanted to get one last thrill.

Dozens of people lined up to splash around in Hennings Pond in Albrightsville during the 14th annual Pocono Polar Bear Plunge.

Among the plungers, Newswatch 16's Raegan Medgie. She had some famous companions, including Captain America, the Green Lantern, Aquaman and Batgirl.

Dozens more folks lined the shore to witness the spectacle and cheer on the swimmers.

"We've been here 14 or 15 years, since it started. We're here every year for it. This is the best thing going on in the Poconos, on this day anyhow," said Dan Maguire of Locust Lake.

Money raised from the polar plunge will go to help April Schaefer who is battling a serious illness.
