WILKES-BARRE -- Driving around for 12 to 14 hours on Valentine's Day doesn't sound too romantic, but Tony Vinciarelli does it every year.
"I've been here for at least 10 years now, helping out on Valentine's Day," said flower deliveryman Tony Vinciarelli.
He was delivering flowers for McCarthy Flowers in Wilkes-Barre.
"It's just a long day, driving all day. This year is bad obviously because of the weather, but that's the hard part really is just the weather this year," said Vinciarelli.
It’s hard for delivery men like Tony, but good for McCarthy's owner Rick Berry.
"A lot of the 800 operations were not able to delivery to the northeast because of the snowstorms, and so net result is that, hey, we went out," said McCarthy Flowers owner Rick Berry.
Delivering to 200 people by 11a.m. on Valentine's Day and hundreds more earlier in the week.
"We actually knew the storm was coming, so we tried to get a lot of stuff out ahead of time," said Vinciarelli.
But even on Valentine's Day, calls are still coming in.
For Valentine's Day, McCarthy’s Flowers uses the building next door as well as their back room to put together all the flowers that are going to go out and be delivered throughout the day.
"Are you Lellamel?" Vinciarelli asked a woman, about to receive some flowers.
"Yes I am!"
"That's you? Perfect!"
Making it easy for Tony Vinciarelli to do his job.
"We didn't even have to go inside. Perfect."
A job that makes women happy and Vinciarelli feel good, too.
"See how happy she was? That was a good delivery," said Vinciarelli.
