Medical Chopper Makes Emergency Landing

PITTSTON TOWNSHIP — A Life Flight helicopter made an emergency landing Wednesday morning at the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton International Airport.

Geisinger officials tell us the helicopter with one patient on board was flying from Tyler Memorial Hospital near Tunkhannock to Geisinger Medical Center near Danville when a mechanical problem occurred mid-flight.

The helicopter landed safely at the airport in Luzerne County and another chopper flew the patient to Montour County.
