SCRANTON -- The mother involved in that wreck in Scranton that claimed the lives of two of her children is still hospitalized suffering from serious injuries.

In the meantime, hundreds of people in Lackawanna County have offered their help.

The Lebron family from Scranton suffered a huge loss after that crash Sunday night on the North Scranton Expressway.

Brother and sister Stephen and Fatima Lebron were killed in the wreck. They were middle-schoolers in Scranton and members of the youth group at Bethel AME Church, just one of the organizations reaching out to help the Lebron family.

Family members Shakara Lebron, three of her children, and her boyfriend were headed home Sunday night when their SUV crashed on the North Scranton Expressway. The images of the crash are ones that many in Scranton won't soon forget

The two victims, Stephen and Fatima, won’t soon be forgotten either.

“They involved in some of our youth events, like our back to school events. And they were bubbly,” said Pastor Tawan Bailey.

Bailey is pastor at Bethel AME Church in Scranton where the Lebrons attended services. Bailey put together a memorial fund for the Lebron family since they don't have insurance the pay for Stephen and Fatima's funeral. Bailey says already the response has been overwhelming. People can make a donation to the "Bethel Lebron Fund" at any Penn Security Bank.

"The whole of the community is pulling together to do what it can do in regard to such a major tragedy."

Maria McCullon was motivated, too.  She was approached by members of the North Scranton Vikings Junior Football League where Stephen Lebron was a standout player. Her restaurant will host a benefit for the Lebron family this Saturday. The benefit will be held at the restaurant on Court Street in Scranton from 5-9pm this Saturday.

"The way the community has come together, it's nice. A lot of people don't have and they're willing to give to this family, and it's just overwhelming for me."

You can find more information about the benefits for the Lebron family here.

The driver of the SUV, Shakara Lebron, is still in the hospital in serious condition.

Scranton police are still investigating the crash.
