WILKES-BARRE — Luzerne County Special Olympics hosted a bowling tournament at Chacko’s Family Bowling Center Saturday.
Organizers say around 120 bowlers showed up for the event bringing plenty of supporters with them.
It’s three bowlers to a lane, so everyone leaves a winner with a gold, silver, or bronze medal.
A bunch of volunteers came out to help at the event.
“Basically our entire campus is dedicated to volunteering and so whenever we have an event like this, like bowling or basketball tournament, things like that, we essentially just spread the word and the volunteers start coming and it’s always such a great turnout,” said Wilkes University senior, Adam Bailey.
An organizer said they hold the special olympics event every February in Wilkes-Barre.
