COOLBAUGH TOWNSHIP -- Investigators in the Poconos are trying to figure out why a school bus with children on board went off the road in Tobyhanna Friday morning and ended up in the woods.

A spokesperson for the Pocono Mountain School District says the school bus ended up going off Route 196 and into the woods to avoid crashing into a vehicle in front of it.

No one on the bus was hurt.

The call for this crash came in around 8:45 a.m.

A school spokesperson says nine young children were on the bus.

The bus was on its way to the Pocono Mountain Charter School.

After the crash, another bus came to get the students.

The school district spokesperson says four of the children who were on the bus go to the Pocono Mountain Charter School. Five others go to Clear Run school campus.

All were getting checked out by the school nurses and appear to be unhurt.

A towing company pulled the bus out of the woods.
