To kick off the 2014 season of "Sharla's Show & Tell," we decided to hit the slopes at Elk Mountain! I have skied for many years, but never attempted to learn how to snowboard, until now. I had a great instructor, in Daryl Burleigh, who taught me everything from putting on my snowboarding boots, to making it down the mountain in one piece. I learned that falling is a big part of learning, but I came away injury-free! One of the most challenging parts is keeping your balance, while gliding down the slope. It's a sport I would love to try again, but have come to realize that I will not be the next Shaun White.
