WAYNE COUNTY -- If the day after Groundhog Day is any indication, Phil was right. Winter is here to stay for six more weeks.
All over the area we saw snow and some places saw more than others.
Plow trucks were out on the roads in Wayne County making the drive near Hamlin a little easier for people dealing with another coating of snow.
Smaller trucks had their work cut out for them too. In Lake Ariel, Mike Kwiatek had to clear a path for an oil truck on its way to make a delivery.
"It's good old fashion winter, we haven't had as much snow as usual but we're getting our fair share today," he said.
In Honesdale, it was pretty much the same story. Tina Wood took several swipes with the shovel, clearing the sidewalk in front of Jennz Cafe on Main Street.
"I am looking forward to spring, I hate this weather, I do."
On days like this, folks at the Hamlin Senior Center said seniors tend to get cabin fever. So in order to get to the center safely, some rely on public transportation rather than run the risk of having a crash.
"It is wonderful," said Rose Camilleri.
Camilleri and Tommy Roell passed the time going head to head on the shuffle board table. While the snowy weather may have kept some away from the senior center, enough made it to enjoy each other's company.
"It's really nice, enjoyable here, good to have a place like this," added Camilleri.
Regardless of what the rest of winter has in store for us all, some are taking it all in stride.
"It's February, you expect this in February, we'll bring it on, whatever it is we can handle it," said Kwiatek.
