Police: Gas Station Robbed, Employee Assaulted

STROUDSBURG — Police in Monroe County are looking for the person who robbed a gas station and assaulted an employee.

Just after 4 p.m. Monday, officers of the Stroud Area Regional Police Department were called to the Hess Gas Station on North Ninth Street in Stroudsburg.

According to police, a man walked into the station and hit the employee in the head and face. The robber demanded money. The employee gave him money. The robber then went through the employee’s clothing, took more money and took off.

Officers said the employee was taken to the hospital.

The robber was described as a male, 6’2″, 230 pounds, and in his late 30s. He was wearing a long blue coat, a dark color skull cap with a white insignia on the front, and white sneakers.
