SCRANTON -- A former police chief, police captain, and volunteer firefighter, caught up in a sex scandal are due for sentencing.

Three men involved in a small town sex scandal in Lackawanna County are scheduled to go before a judge for sentencing Monday afternoon.

The Old Forge police chief, a police captain, and a volunteer firefighter were charged in 2012.  Two pleaded guilty.  One was found guilty, and all three are scheduled to be sentenced Monday.

Old Forge Police Chief Larry Semenza was found guilty of two misdemeanors in October, and he was found not guilty of the most serious charges he faced. All along, Semenza denied had sexual contact with a 15-year-old girl.

According to the district attorney's office, Semenza faces up to six years in prison.  He has to register as a sex offender, and he can't work as a police officer ever again.

Semenza was suspended when the charges were filed.  He quit after the conviction.

Old Forge police captain Jamie Krenitsky pleaded guilty to one count of indecent assault, and testified against Semenza at last fall's trial.

Like Semenza, Krenitsky was suspended after the charges were filed in 2012, and he quit after the guilty plea.

The third, former volunteer firefighter Walter Chiavacci, also pleaded guilty to one count of indecent assault in 2012.  Investigators say he faces up to two years in jail.
