LEHIGHTON — A woman from Carbon County could end up behind bars for decades for allegedly stealing money while she was employed at a bank.

According to court papers, Shelly Kocher, 42, of Lehighton, was charged on Wednesday for embezzling over $300,000 from accounts at Jim Thorpe National Bank in Jim Thorpe.

Authorities said Kocher worked as a customer service supervisor for the bank from 1999 until May 2013.  Court papers accuse her of stealing money from customers savings accounts between April 2010 and April 2013.

The bank said all victims have been reimbursed.  Kocher faces up to 30 years in jail and fines around $1 million.
