Restocking Again For The Cold

LACKAWANNA COUNTY—Justus Home and Garden, a True Value store in Lackawanna County, has been busy lately.

The cold has been driving customers inside.

Fireplaces and heaters are on sale.

There is ice melt and rock salt.

It has been a cold winter so far.

“This is the first time that I’ve been home in 21 years. I usually winter away and this is the first time I’ve been home and I don’t like it. It’s been too cold,” said Forrest Wilcox of Chinchilla.

Bill Myers of Clarks Summit was buying a thermometer, so he can tell just how cold it is each day.

“You know, below zero. That’s fine. I don’t know what else to say.” he laughed.

The store manager said the cold has been great for business.

“People that have bought ice melt through the holidays are now coming in and buying more,” said Brian Mushel.

That has also created an unexpected problem.

“Any type of winter related cold weather product, everything is out of stock. Our warehouse is, we can’t even get it direct from the manufacturer, everybody is out of it. And that goes for everything from ice melt, anything to do with cold weather. “
