MOOSIC -- It is Oscar season and at Cinemark in Moosic, movie fans seem pretty pleased.

Most of the nominated films are showing there.

"I saw American Hustle. I thoroughly enjoyed it, I thought it was comedic. I thought Jennifer Lawrence was comedic and Amy Adams, I thought they all did a great job," said Patti Nicastro of Jefferson Township.

August: Osage County is a film nominated for several awards.

Mildred Weinberg of Scranton saw it at Cinemark Friday.

"The acting was superb, every single person. I'm going home on my computer and looking up each person I saw and looking up what they did before, everybody was just wonderful," said Weinberg.

The manager at Cinemark told Newswatch 16 that this batch of Oscar-nominated movies has been very good for business. He said when the theater opened, there was a line of people waiting to buy tickets.

"I never saw so many people in the first movie and I've been coming here often," said Weinberg.

"I went last week, I can't remember what I went to see and the parking lot was packed, and I haven't seen that in along time. I think a lot of people are interested in these particular movies," said Dorothy Luther of Clarks Summit.

The 86th annual Academy Awards, otherwise known as the Oscars, are set for Sunday March 2.
