HAMILTON TOWNSHIP -- State police in Monroe County are looking for the shooter who shot and killed a man early Tuesday morning.
According to troopers, shots were fired inside at a trailer park formally known as Hillside Mobile Home Park on Old Timber Road outside of Bartonsville around 1 a.m.
Authorities said a man was shot in the head and was killed.
The coroner identified the victim as Darcey Kravchenko, age 39.
Since the deadly shooting happened state police have talked with several people throughout the morning, questioning them to help figure out exactly what played out and who pulled the trigger.
Around 9:45 a.m., state police were able to serve a search warrant at the mobile home where troopers say a man was shot and killed overnight. They were looking for anything to help investigators figure out where the victim was in the house at the time he was shot.
Troopers are calling this an isolated incident and not a random act of violence.
The mobile home where the crime took place is along Old Timber Road inside Timber Hills mobile park, just west of Stroudsburg.
The shooting happened around 1 a.m. Tuesday.
One woman described how her neighborhood came to life overnight with so much police activity.
“I was sound asleep and all of sudden I heard ‘boom, boom, boom!’” she said. “It could be anywhere. You don’t know. You don’t know what to expect. I can’t pack up and move. You can’t live in fear.”
That neighbor said that she still feels safe in that community despite the shooting. She said just minutes after she heard those gunshots, police were in her neighborhood knocking on her door making sure she and the others around her were safe.
An autopsy is scheduled for Wednesday.
State police are calling this a case of criminal homicide.
No one has been arrested.
