TOBYHANNA — A woman from Monroe County is accused of bilking the government out of $15,000 in Section 8 payments.
The alleged fraud came to light when officers arrested Chatoya Mitchell and her husband at their home in Tobyhanna on assault charges.
The Section 8 program aims to help low-income families find affordable housing.
Mitchell faces several charges of theft by deception.
