HONESDALE — People in part of a Wayne County community are under a boil advisory after a water main break.

According to Aqua Pennsylvania officials, a water main broke Wednesday night in Honesdale affecting homes and businesses on about 15 blocks.

The affected streets are Maple Avenue; Clark, Wood, Dein, Smith, Bridge, Mill and Locust streets; West Park Street (from Maple Avenue west); Meadow Lane, Hillcrest Circle, Hillside Drive, Golf Hill, and Beech Grove roads, and Roosevelt Highway (US 6) from Maple Avenue west.

Company officials hope to lift the boil advisory by Saturday.
