WHITE DEER TOWNSHIP — It appears a tire-burning facility will not be built in Union County.
En-Tire Logistics notified DEP two days ago saying it was withdrawing a request for an air quality test.
The company wanted to burn chipped waste tires to produce electricity, but people were worried that the facility would have been less than two miles from White Deer Elementary School.
DEP officials said the company requested termination of the air quality plan approval, ending the project.
