SCRANTON — A man who admitted to stabbing a woman last year was sentenced to prison Wednesday in Lackawanna County court.
According to the district attorney’s office, Victor Pertell was sentenced to 10 to 20 years in state prison and five years of special probation.
Investigators said in July of 2013, Pertell stabbed Elisabeth Correa several times in the laundry room at the Towneplace Suites in Moosic, and then fled.
Police said Correa had a protection from abuse order against Pertell.
Police arrested him near his home in Scranton. They said he had what appeared to be blood stains on his clothes.
Pertell pleaded guilty to the crime last year.
