MIDDLE SMITHFIELD TOWNSHIP — Frozen water pipes closed a school in the Poconos on Wednesday.

The problem was discovered by a janitor at Resica Elementary outside Marshalls Creek.

Crews worked to thaw out the pipes inside the water tower behind the school.

Officials expect classes to resume on schedule Thursday.
