New Year's Eve celebrations are big business around here, especially in the Poconos where resorts and hotels go all out for the holiday bash.
Chef Ryan Janesko has been at it for three days in the lead up to New Year's Eve here at Ledges Hotel in Hawley.
Chicken, sweet potatoes and more are on the menu for a party with more than 100 guests on the guest list.
"It's all in the preparation, if you're not ready, it won't go well," said Janesko.
The relatively new hotel is hosting a Prohibition era themed party with throwback cocktails like a Moscow Mule.
The holiday bash is already a hit before it starts.
"We're sold out, I'd love to say there's room for more, it's sold out, hotel's sold out. It will be a fun evening for everyone who's here," said Terri Marcellus.
And if ringing in the new year with crowds is not your thin, at Cove Haven Resort, you can hop atop a champagne tower with your loved one and have the ultimate toast for 2014.
"We're really excited, it's a great way for couples to reconnect right before the holidays and bring in the new year in 2014, we're all excited and ready to go," said Maura Roman of Cove Haven.
The resort is also booked for New Year's Eve.
The couples-only Pocono resort has a big party planned with live music, a midnight buffet, party favors and noise makers.
During the day, guests have a big selection of things to do with each other like taking spins on these sleds.
"We loved it, came last year, we enjoyed it so before we left we made reservations to be here this year," said David Rasmussen of Long Island.
And when the party's over, these and other Poconos businesses will have started 2014 by cashing in on a new year.
