PLAINS TOWNSHIP -- Folks were on-hand Saturday in Luzerne County for a spectacular display of locomotives.

The models are part of the Hudson Model Railroad Club's 31st annual winter open house at the club's headquarters in Plains Township.

The display includes more than 2,000 square feet of model trains and railroad artifacts.

Admission is free and volunteers say the event gets bigger and better every year.

"I like seeing the reaction from some of the kids. They run around, they're like, 'Oh my God, steam engines, diesels. I saw this one outside the other day!'" Because we have the main line trains run through right outside. So, just seeing them happy, it makes me happy," says Michael Latrella of Scranton.

The open house continues Sunday from noon to 5 p.m., and runs through January 5.
