DICKSON CITY — The White House announced an extension on Monday, giving most Americans until the end of tomorrow, Christmas Eve, to sign up for health coverage under the Affordable Care Act if you want your insurance to kick in by January 1.
That made for a busy day at the Blue Cross store in Dickson City. The place that sells Blue Cross/Blue Shield insurance plans was booked all day with appointments. Customer after customer came in, looking for help to choose an Obamacare plan.
“It’s very stressful too, with the holiday season and everything. You’re so busy and everything, it’s good they pushed it back an extra day so I got everything in,” said John Strempek of Moscow.
This is the second time the White House has pushed back an enrollment deadline.
The White House says the reason for the change was the anticipation of high demand.
