WILKES-BARRE -- A man is headed to trial on homicide charges.
Authorities believe Kenneth Evans from Wilkes-Barre shot Shantique Goodson in November.
They said the shooting happened at the troubled Sherman Hills apartments after an argument.
The victim's mother was emotional outside the courtroom Wednesday.
"Me and Kenny's mother is losing a child because he's going to prison, and my child is in the grave, but she can go to a prison to see her kid. I have to go to a grave to see Teeka," said Stacey Goodson.
There have been 13 homicides in Wilkes-Barre so far this year.
Authorities arrested both Evans and Goodson for selling heroin earlier this year.
