WILKES-BARRE -- Back in the beginning of November, a man was found shot to death on the floor of the kitchen at his home in Wilkes-Barre. His case went unsolved  until today when investigators brought homicide charges against someone, who was already in court for something else.

Lamar Curry-Davis pushed the Newswatch 16 microphones away as he left a Magistrate's office in Wilkes-Barre. Davis started his day facing a robbery charge. Now he's also charged with criminal homicide, burglary, and possession of a gun without a license in connection with the shooting death of Eduardo Madera.

It all happened November 6th in this home on East Northampton Street in Wilkes-Barre. According to court papers, Davis admitted to police that he came here looking to steal heroin and sell it on the street.

When he went into the home, he saw Eduardo Madera, who he believed had a gun. Davis told police that he started shooting to "spook" Madera. He said he kept shooting because he didn't think he was hitting Madera since he didn't fall down. Madera ultimately died and Davis ran off.

It's a day neighbor Clarissa Diaz remembers well.

"Scared because we don't know what expect to happen to the next door neighbors because we live right near here so you know what could happen," said Clarissa Diaz, of Wilkes-Barre.

A few weeks later, Davis was charged with robbery after police say he tried to take $10 from a man outside this pizza shop in Wilkes-Barre.

He's been locked up ever since and will now stay locked up on more serious charges.

"That's actually good and I'm glad that they found the person because a lot of crazy things have been happening in Wilkes-Barre, and now it needs to calm down and everything will be good," said Diaz.

Lamar Curry-Davis is locked up in Luzerne County. He's expected back in court for a hearing on the new charges before the end of the year.
