Alleged Mass Shooter Pleads Not Guilty in Court

A man accused of shooting and killing three people And wounding two others at a township supervisor’s meeting pleaded not guilty Monday.

Prosecutors said Rockne Newell opened fire at a Ross Township supervisor’s meeting in early August.

Newell appeared by video conference.

David Fleetwood, Gerard Kozic and James Laguardia, all from Saylorsburg, were the three men who died in the shooting.

Police said Newell was upset with the supervisors because the township condemned his property then bought it at a sheriff’s sale.

Rockne Newell faces three criminal homicide charges and four attempted murder charges.

The judge did not set a trial date in Monroe County.
