THROOP-- With less than two weeks before Christmas, Saturday's snowstorm had bad timing. Dozens of holiday celebrations were planned across the area, from breakfasts with Santa to concerts and tree lightings.

Organizers had two choices, postpone or go with the snow.

In Throop, local firehouses and other first responders teamed up for a Santa Parade. The procession stopped at street after street handing out gift bags chocked full of candy and snacks.

In Forest City, Susquehanna County, organizers pressed on with Winterfest.

"They have been calling all day asking, are we still having Winterfest? Absolutely!" said event organizer Christopher Glinton.

Downtown businesses competed for a trophy for the best decorations, vendors offered food and gifts, and singers strolled the street.

Since atendees could easly walk to all of the venues, the snow seemed to add to the holiday atmosphere. Winterfest was capped off with the lighting of Forest City's snow laden Christmas Tree.
