KILLINGTON, VT -- State police in Vermont say a young woman from Carbon County died in an apparent skiing accident.

We're told Jennifer Strohl, 21, from Jim Thorpe was skiing on Killington Mountain when she was separated from her group Thursday afternoon. Searchers found her off a trail around 4:45 p.m. Thursday.

Family members say Strohl of was on a ski trip with friends in Vermont.  That's where state police say she was killed in what appears to be a skiing accident.

Strohl worked as a caretaker for special needs adults.  Her family can't believe she's gone.

It was supposed to be a fun ski trip with friends to Killington Ski Resort in Vermont but state police there say Jennifer Strohl went missing on the slopes Thursday.

A high school photo of Jennifer Strohl hangs on her grandmother's wall. She graduated from Jim Thorpe several years ago. She was a caretaker at a special-needs home for adults.

Strohl lived with her parents on South Avenue in Jim Thorpe. Her grandparents are a block away. Her grandmother didn't feel comfortable talking on camera, but says Jennfier was always up and down this street.  She says she has lost her angel.

The investigation continues at Killington but the mourning is certainly underway in Jim Thorpe.

Jennifer Strohl's grandmother says Jennifer just helped her decorate for Christmas a week or so ago. Now they are a reminder of her loss during this holiday season.
