SOUTH ABINGTON TOWNSHIP — It was quite a surprise for drivers who got stuck in traffic on Interstate 81 Friday morning in Lackawanna County.

Power line work over the highway that PennDOT told us would not happen until Monday actually happened Friday.

Traffic was backed up between Clarks Summit and Dickson City as helicopters were in the air stringing the power line across the highway as part of a PPL project.
