DALLAS -- Crews in Luzerne County started tearing down a landmark restaurant Wednesday morning.
Crews are demolishing the last Mark II Restaurant. It's on Memorial Highway in the Back Mountain.
The restaurant became run down years ago, and the owner says it would cost more to fix than to tear down and replace it. He is hopeful someone will think of something to go in its place.
"We'll have to find somebody, but it just became apparent that we had to take the building down so someone can see the property and what the use would be. I would love to see a diner,” said owner Jack Williams.
The other three Mark II locations in Luzerne County have already been demolished, and other businesses have been built in their place.
